I Feel Fine

Woke up this morning and the sun shone bright
it's been such a long time
but now I feel alright
And all of the colours have a brand new glow
and the sounds and notes
ring in stereo
Yeah I feel fine,
I feel good.
if anyone asks I'm alright
(2x)
Normally I'm a misanthrope
running low on hope
but that's behind me
I want to see and I want to breathe
rise and shine, that's all I want to do
Yeah I feel fine,
I feel good.
if anyone asks I'm alright
(2x)
Rise and shine and shine and rise
Yeah I feel fine,
I feel good.
if anyone asks I'm alright
(2x)

choose a sunny day to sing a song
'cause you like the ambiguity
when the vibe feels wrong
just another stroke of genius for you
you truly mastered irony
right that's my cue
oh leave me to my thoughts
I've heard it all before
while you were working till you were sore
I was here kinda bored
but I'd rather be bored than beg for a reward
the world revolves around you
you and I we're not alike I convince myself at night
the world revolves around you
behind metaphors and similes and more
measures to conceal the truth
I hide from it all
this meta-commentary on myself
I can barely blame it on my youth
screams pretentiousness
oh leave me to my thoughts
I've heard it all before
while you were working till you were sore
I was here kinda bored
but I'd rather be bored than beg for a reward
the world revolves around you
you and I we're not alike I convince myself at night
the world revolves around you
oh leave me to my thoughts
I've heard it all before
while you were working till you were sore
I was here kinda bored

I’m tired
of stumbling around
not knowing where to go
so I’m following sounds
that seem familiar that I might even know
but halfway through
I hear a new one
“someday I’d like to settle down with you”,
I hear myself say
and you say nothing for a while
you need to catch your train
“well, see, you’re quite funny but…
I’m not ready for this kind of thing it’s true
I barely know myself how can I know you”
and I walk home
again on my own
and I lie down
keep checking my phone
but there ain’t nothing
worth refreshing for
I’m on my own
I know there’s hope to be found in the end
but maybe I chose the wrong path and missed it
'cause how am I supposed to know
if I was right?
after it’s too late
to change my mind
yet the other way
seems like better way
and I’m tired
of stumbling around
not knowing where to go
so I’m following sounds
that seem familiar
but how am I supposed to know?
